6/10 - Locker Room Dryer

Oh my gosh this is such a funny story! Okay so there's this super cool machine in the locker room up here where you can put your swimsuit in and it will dry it in like 60 seconds. Kelsey and I have been dying to try it out but haven't been able to go swimming so one day before our workout, Kelsey takes off her shirt, gets it wet in the sink, and puts it in the dryer. The anticipation was killing us as we waited to see if it was successful or not. Now don't let this picture fool you - she took the shirt out and it was still all wet!! It was quite hilarious to see her put it back on and walk to the gym all wet :) I tried it again later and it worked alright with a swimsuit but apparently not for a shirt.

6/9 - Aargh!!!

So at work the other morning, someone had left some writing up on the white board. Usually we just wipe it all off, call it good, and leave once the room is finished. Well I noticed that the R was written cool and told the person cleaning the board that it was cool. He decided to leave it for me but before we left, I wanted to make it even cooler by making it a pirate. Pretty good right? And how appropriate for an "Rrrrrr" to be dressed as a pirate ;)

6/8 - Speaking Of...

On the subject of the rain, Kelsey and I got caught in a massive downpour on our way to her car. We had to stop in the Taylor building to dry off slightly and hope that it would die down soon. While there, Kelsey remembers that she had a backpack cover thing that she had never used before. Perfect timing right? Well, by the time she got it on the rain had stopped and although still wet, we were able to make it to the car without drowning (actually, Eric got the car and we waited for him to show up!).

6/7 - I'm Just Sayin...

Look at this sad tree... what month is it?? June??? Those leaves should have sprung about two months ago but we have been having a particularly wet and sun-less summer and it is rather depressing. Usually it is wonderfully sunny everyday at this time but not this year. Hopefully the sun realizes its place in this world soon!

6/6 - Stroke Victim

For some reason, there is always something entertaining that comes up when I go work out with Kelsey. We spend much much more time laughing than actually working out. So we stumbled across a poster in the Hart that was all about first aid and how to take care of people in medical emergencies. These pictures on how to identify a stroke made us particularly hysterical! Yes, they are good to know and true but don't you think the guy posing has got to feel pretty stupid??

6/5 - Frisbee Time!

Look at that Sunday evening! It's gorgeous!! I really wanted to get out of my apartment so I called Matthew up and asked what he was up to. He was doing nothing so we decided to go out and play some frisbee at Porter Park. One of my favorite things about Rexburg is how much it comes to life when the sun comes out. The park was packed with people all out to enjoy the fun and play some outdoor games. Matthew's roommate and Eric Dennis also came and we played some frisbee for a while. What a wonderful afternoon! The funny thing was that Matthew broke a huge branch while getting out of a tree. Some random Asian started yelling and we all just laughed about it!

6/4 - Crap...

Decided to dye my hair - why not? - it's fun - I've had the same color for a year - it's faded pretty bad - time for a change. Bad decision. You see, I decided I wanted to go lighter for summer but didn't account for the fact that it's really hard to go from dark to light so when I had Kelsey dye it, the top part that had grown out dyed a really pretty color and the bottom just got darker. It would have been fine except for a few pretty bad lines. We tried again by stripping it of color and dying it all again but now I have an awkward orange color on top and a dark brown on the bottom. I would fix it but I have already spent too much trying to fix it. I guess I will be spending more time outside to try to fix it through natural bleach!

6/3 - This Is Exhaustion

I have been really good this semester about going to bed on time and getting everything done. I have lived a very balanced life in terms of sleep, food, schoolwork, and social life. But I am human. On Friday, I can't remember exactly but I believe that I got two hours of sleep before work and 20 minutes after work with a test to take or something like that. Needless to say, by the time I got to my third class, I was exhausted. This picture is the result of class and although it is a piece of crap, it makes me happy because it's slightly artistic. Nothing compared to Kaylynn but it has slight potential... maybe?

6/2 - Overboard?

I'm just sayin... they may have gone crazy at work with the wet floor signs. We are required to put these signs up after mopping the staircases but we all just hate having to deal with them because basically, by the time you get to the bottom, the top is dry so you just have to go back up and get them again. Plus, there's only five signs and 15 places that need them so you have to wait sometimes for them to dry before you can get them. It's such a hassle so this really made me laugh!

6/1 - Shante's Birthday!!

Wednesday was Shante's birthday!! We celebrated it by having cake and ice cream and watching the movie "Country Strong" (which is a pretty stupid movie by the way). Justin, her boyfriend, came over in the morning and decorated the living room all up with posters, streamers, balloons, and presents. He also brought over a cake that night and we all had a bonding type of night for her birthday. She's now the ripe old age of 19 and getting married in December. Congrats Shante!!

5/31 - Graduation?

So another random picture but I was looking through my emails and came across one from those professional photographers that take pictures at graduation to try and get you to buy them. There were little thumbnail pictures and I decided to copy them and here's one. I was so excited that day and could hardly sit still but had to with the other 500 people graduating! I will always remember graduation as one of the best days of high school and now my little sister is graduating. Crazy!

5/30 - Heading Back

Monday we headed back to school around 8 AM but on the way we stopped in The Dalles I think it was for some Burgerville. The Hollingshead kids are a little obsessed with this restaurant and I enjoy it so we stopped since it is only a Pacific Northwest restaurant so you can't get it in Idaho. I quite enjoyed my strawberry shake and turkey sandwich. Definitely a must in the Northwest!

5/29 - Not Sunday

Okay so I know this is a day off but this picture just makes me laugh. Here's the story: while my mom was using the restroom after we were all playing at the beach, Danielle announced that she had been making a line in the sand with her toes all the way from the shipwreck to the car. Kaylynn decided that if Danielle can make a line, she wanted to make a line at least from the car to the drop off of sand nearby. Danielle and I found this to be silly so we spent our time messing up her line as she frantically tried to remake it in the spots we weren't at. It was pretty entertaining for the 5 minutes but did manage to get Dad's car pretty messy with sand.

5/28 - Beach Time

Oh how I love the beach! So funny story with going to the beach. Kaylynn was in on my coming home for the weekend so on Thursday she calls me up saying that Mom and Dad are planning something for Saturday because everyone was off and it would have been lame to stay home all of Memorial Weekend. She had no idea what it was and I started freaking out that maybe it was like tickets to a show in Portland or something and that maybe I should tell them what's up so they could get me into whatever it was as well. We decided that she was going to keep trying to coax it out of Mom and if I didn't hear anything in an hour, I would call and tell her. It ended up just being a trip to the beach so I was able to keep my secret. So Saturday we get up early and went to breakfast at Camp 18, a most glorious lumberjack restaurant out by the beach that we all have gone to on an 8th grade field trip. It was delicious and from there we went to Cannon Beach and a few other places nearby and had a grand time in the unexpected sunshine! I just love being home and being able to go to the beach with my family for the day!!

5/27 - SURPRISE!!!

I surprised my family and went home for the weekend with Kelsey and Eric Dennis and Zach Hollingshead. It was great fun to walk into seminary and have my mom get really excited and to surprise my dad at work. What was funny about surprising Dad was that at his work, you can't go in to see him so my mom called and told him he had something waiting for him outside and I just happened to be with Michael and Connor so when Dad came out to see what it was, he thought it was Connor until I said "Hi, Dad!" and then I think he got a little confused :) Since it was Friday, my parents had work and my sisters were busy on Senior Skip Day with some friends so I hung out with Michael (he now works nights) and Connor playing disc golf at the park. It was so much fun!!! It's a great game plus it was nice to hang with my brother and nephew. That night, I went out to dinner with my parents at this amazing new restaurant in Battle Ground and had lots of fun there too. I was exhausted by the end of the day with all of the driving the night before and I had actually stayed up the night before that but it was a fantastic day!!

5/26 - Teachers...

Aren't professors supposed to make a lot of money and have fancy cars and boats? Not BYU-I professors that's for sure! They make me laugh because they all drive beaters that they can afford with their 10 kids and apparently can't afford to have a pair of headphones that aren't taped up. This made me laugh while cleaning that a teacher would actually take the time to tape all of the speakers of his headphones instead of going out and buying a $10 pair at Wal-Mart :)

5/25 - Lots of Food

Okay so for all of you mothers, I know this is a sad looking cupboard but to me, it's pretty exciting! I mean it's not thrilling or anything but the fact that I have food in general is pretty wonderful. I am the type of person that is going to use up what they have until buying new so I just love when I have anything! I mean look at that - I have fruit, bread, vitamins, snacks, and even more in the fridge. Random picture I know but it makes me happy!

5/24 - Flood?

Occasionally it rains in Rexburg and it is such a funny thing to me. You see, since I am from the rainy part of Washington, rain doesn't bother me but there are tons of people here that kind of freak out a little when it starts to rain. I walk to class in a hoody but there are countless people walking around in boots that have magically appeared. I don't know where they got them because if they aren't used to the rain, why would they have boots? There are also a ton of umbrellas that I just make fun of because they are so awkward in huge crowds. The nice thing about rain in Rexburg though is that since it's so windy, it dries up really fast. You can go into class with a downpour in full force and come out with it dry because of the wind.

5/23 - Happy

I was walking to class with a friend the other day when he stopped just to look at the tulips. He might have been late to class but he wanted to enjoy the flowers and I thought that was so cool. Totally random but how nice that someone would actually do that. I made a resolution a long time ago to be more observant and I can't tell you how wonderful that was. I started noticing things that most people didn't and I felt my world expanding. It was fun to see someone else also stop to look at the small and beautiful things in life.

5/22 - I Have a Problem

This is actually pretty good for me. I have the problem of exploding in my room occasionally which gets a little embarrassing because Rachael is super good about keeping her half of the room clean. Notice how there are at least four pairs of shoes - I am afraid one day Rachael will break her neck as she is leaving the room because she gets caught on some clothes. My favorite story though in regards to my room is that one day, I came out into the living room where Molly was and said, "Molly, I exploded again." Her reply was, "Oh, did you eat something bad?" Holy cow I am pretty sure I was laughing for like three days on that one!!!

5/21 - Bountiful Basket!!

There's this cool thing I learned about called Bountiful Baskets where you can pay $15 to get a ton of fruit and vegetables from local people who buy in bulk then separate it among other people who want to get in on the deal. I have recently become really concerned about my health so this sounded like a great way to eat better. The friend that told me about it said that it's a little too pricey and too much food for one person so you should find someone else to go in on it with you so I decided to enlist Kelsey and Christine to split with me. You get some weird things but look at that picture! It's a great deal and that's only a third of what you actually get because that's just my portion. I feel we will be continuing this wonderful investment!!

5/20 - The Anti-Christ?

I really wish I could remember the story but when I was in Russia, one of the volunteers told everyone a detailed story about how SpongeBob is the anti-Christ and even included scriptural references. It was quite amazing actually! Well, he also told us how there's a painting (the one in all the churches where Christ is in the Americas and has a lot of people around him) that has SpongeBob on the side which apparently just proved his point further. I tried looking online for it for a long time and couldn't find it then one day at work, wa-la!! There it was on the wall with SpongeBob on the side like he said! It's still a ridiculous story but it is funny that that square looks like a silly sponge!

5/19 - Adorable

After a while of cleaning offices at work, you begin to feel like you know the teachers even though you have never met them. Most of them have strange habits like drinking more pop than you can imagine or keeping their offices so messy you can't ever see the floor. Most of them have pictures of their families up which is a lot of fun because then you have a little glimpse of their lives that you can look at every morning. This little kid is probably the cutest kid in the whole building. What's also fun about him is that I have been able to watch him grow through his pictures and it makes me smile everytime a new picture goes up. I know that sounds terribly stalker-ish but when your job is vacuuming everyday, you start to find ways to enjoy yourself.
