It seems like I have been sick an excessive amount this winter and here we go again. On Thursday, I began to feel really tired and fatigued but went to work then made it home around 8:30 admitting that I was sick. I fell asleep early with a heating pad and hot rice pack bundled up only to wake up at 3 AM to a fever of 101.4. Great. I finally have a Friday off and I am sick. I took some medicine and it went down for about 30 minutes but it was still the middle of the night so I just went to sleep again. I woke up at 10:30 still with a fever and called my mom up who said not to take any medicine but go to the urgent clinic. I was too weak to drive so I had Matthew take me. They told me I looked awful and prescribed me a flu medicine and vicodin. I wasn't throwing up but was in a lot of pain with serious fatigue. After two pharmacies, we made it home and I fell right to sleep from exhaustion. It wasn't until around 6:30 PM that my fever went away but eventually it did. Thank goodness. I called in to work on Saturday (doctor's orders) and am feeling better now. Not perfect but much better. See all of those medicines on that table, I was taking ALL of those at one point. That's six (one is a little box under the prescriptions)!!
3/25 - Sick... Again
It seems like I have been sick an excessive amount this winter and here we go again. 3/24 - My Mom
3/23 - Stuck
I'm not really all sure what happened but I was getting ready for work and talking to Jenn on the phone when I get a text from my mom. I thought it was weird because she was supposed to be downstairs. It asked if I saw what she was doing. I went downstairs to find her driving through the yard away from Grandma and Grandpa who were in the van here. From what I gathered, their battery died when they were over dropping food off for the chickens and had Mom drive out to jump start them. Oh grandparents, they are silly.3/22 - Beautiful
Spring will be here soon and waking up to sunshine is the perfect way to gear us up for it. It felt like a summer morning when I woke up to this wonderful sunshine radiating all over the yard. Oh man am I excited to go to school and hang out with friends in the summertime. It will be glorious! I have been freezing lately and the sun just sounds more and more divine each day.
3/21 - It's Been A While

I honestly can't remember the last time I went to Burgerville but I had a break for work and talked for a little bit so ended up with only 20 minutes of break left to find dinner and it was either Burgerville or McDonalds because they were closest. Burgerville won. It was very good but I still don't understand the bag. They tried to explain the frog somewhere but I just wasn't seeing the connection with food. If anyone understands, please enlighten me :) Otherwise, the food was very good and the smoothie lived up to the greatness I remembered.
3/20 - Cutie
Any day is good when this little guy comes around. I just love the Sundays where Michael, Courtney, and Connor get to come over. They do their laundry and I get to play with Connor. He is just so entertaining because he is curious about anything and loves to have someone follow him around and hang out with him. I love crawling up and down the stair with him giggling at my side!
3/19 - A Filipino Afternoon
3/18 - Irish Dancers
A bluegrass group on St. Patrick's Day and Irish Dancers the day after. A little mixed up but that's alright. The residents loved it all. We have these Irish Dancers come every year and they are really good. It's a bunch of teenagers at a local class that performs for about 45 minutes. They were quite fun to watch and we all look forward to them coming every year.
3/17 - My St. Patrick's Date
Spent my Valentine's Day passing pills so how do I spend my St. Patrick's Day? Doing the same thing but this time I was able to sit and enjoy the bluegrass band they had come play for the residents. I am not sure why they had a bluegrass group come for St. Patrick's Day but the residents loved it... except for this one right here. Bill. He is a piece of work! He is hilarious but sometimes throws his opinions out there in a colorful manner. I decided to sit next to him while I ate my dinner on break and he was not very impressed with the band. My favorite comment he made was, "What does that guy even do for a living, pump gas?!" He then started laughing hysterically because apparently that was a good insult. It was quite an entertaining 30 minutes!
3/16 - New Clothes Rock!
This is my newest addition to my wardrobe and I love it! It's a dress that I got at Ross that I was going to shorten but once I wore it, I decided it was perfect as is. I can't wait to back up to school and I can actually wear it. Right now I work all the time and only wear my scrubs so it will be so nice to dress up every day and actually feel pretty. Man I just love this shirt/dress!
3/15 - Loss of a Friend

Friends are hard to come by especially in an assisted living home and on Tuesday I came to work to hear that my really good friend, Verna, had very unexpectedly passed away. Verna was my very dear friend and favorite resident. She was fully aware (unlike many other residents) so it was great to joke around with her. She was so happy and just loved everything. I am heartbroken that she is gone although I know that she is now able to run around and be with her husband. This picture is of her table where we spent a lot of time playing her computer games. She would be playing them and when I came in would invite me to help. We had a lot of good times here. Verna my dear, you will be greatly missed!!
3/14 - Kinda Cool
So this is totally random but when your job is to just pass pills for hours, you tend to have too much time to think. I've compared all of the pills I pass and this cup has my favorite variety of colors. My favorite pills to pass are the ones with the least amount but this has my favorite colors because I love the teal, green, and maroon. You can't tell as well in this picture the colors but just trust me, they are pretty :)
3/13 - Yess!

I don't know about you but I consider grass to be one of the most wonderful things in the world and how wonderful is it that it's coming back to life? The world is just barely starting to warm up making the ground less soggy and walking on the grass more of a possibility. Spring is coming everyone! Get ready!!!
3/12 - Sisters Are The Best!
Saturday morning what do my sisters and I frequently do? Go bargain shopping! We are the queens of shopping and never spend more than $15 on an item of clothing. We like to go to a store and grab a bunch of clothes then go to the dressing room to show everything off and help each other pick what's a winner and what's not. Kaylynn was in a particularly happy mood and made it incredibly entertaining. It was like she couldn't think straight and was just throwing things on to show us. Here, she had showed us the dress that's rolled down but wanted to show us the cardigan without changing so this is the result. Everything else is what she wore for the day including the one Dr. Seuss sock. She actually looks really cute for not matching at all!
3/11 - Speaking Of...
While we are on the topic of spring coming, there are more things showing up than plants. This is on thing. Teeny tiny slugs that will grow up to be big slugs and will get all over everything. They don't seem to last too long thank goodness because I have stepped on enough of them to last me a lifetime! Where's the salt when you need it?
3/10 - Spring Is Coming!!
Okay wow this picture makes our yard look purple but it's really not, just so you know ;), but look at the plant in the middle. I don't know my plants so I don't know what it is but isn't it beautiful?! I am so excited to see everything blossom - it's one of my favorite times of the year. The trees are just barely coming out with tiny leaves that are just going to explode soon. Washington when it's in full blossom is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen but it's unfortunate that I don't really get to see it much since I go to school mid April. Oh well, I am going to enjoy it while I can.
3/9 - Ortho
Wednesday was another orthodontist appointment day for Danielle that I got to drive her to. It's always fun to get to take her there because we get to chat there and back with our hot chocolate. This time the hot chocolate was especially good because we had 1.5 packets of chocolate mix and three french vanilla creamers. Awful on the calories but man has that girl got hot chocolate down to a science! She says she's going to start a hot chocolate shop and I told her she would be 500 pounds by then. So I had to drive her back to the high school but once we got there, we both desperately needed to use the bathroom so I went into the school (weird because I haven't been there in forever) and there was the hallway into the cafeteria all decked out with a huge mural! It's amazing! This is just one side of it but I was totally impressed. It's crazy how much that school has already changed since I left.
3/8 - Chucks
Look at those beauts! Love them!! So our company got bought out by another and the dress code changed so we no longer have to wear white or black shoes just closed toed. Most people still wear their old shoes but mine stunk so bad after how much I had used them that I decided I needed to change to something else. Luckily, I had just bought these wonders a few days before the decision and they needed to be broken in. I am glad to announce that they are officially broken in and my feet no longer hurt after 8.5 hours of running around. I love these shoes! (Plus they were on sale for $20 normally $45)
3/7 - My Airhead Brother
This is a two part picture. I will explain in a minute why. So on Sunday night around midnight I got a call from Matthew telling me when we were meeting and were to meet and stuff like that. He then told me that he had gotten in a longboarding accident on Saturday and that he had a lot of scrapes that were pretty big. I asked him if he had cleaned them and he said that he had just washed them with water. The idiot! He needed to clean them! So after hanging up with him, I told Christine the story and she said that she had a bunch of stuff that could clean it like hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. I called him back and said I was coming over to clean them up. I drove over and sit him down to clean them. I continued to call him and airhead and idiot over and over again as we let me clean and wrap up his hands. The other guys at the apartment thought it was pretty entertaining I am sure has Matthew's little sister shows up after midnight to clean his hands. Fast forward to the pictures up. Matthew's hands got a little better but are still pretty red and swollen so we ended up just sticking his hands in a bowl of peroxide! It fizzed like no other! Then I wrapped them for him hence the second picture. I can successfully clean and wrap an injury although he is going to need to see a doctor in case of infection. I was a little proud of myself!
3/6 - My Friends...
3/5 - Laurence
3/4 - Reunited And It Feels So Good
3/3 - Upgrade
3/2 - Birthday Boy :)
3/1 - Babysitting
This little boy is just too cute for me to handle sometimes. I got to babysit him on Tuesday while his mother was at a work meeting. He is just so cute and fun and I love every time I can babysit him because he brightens my day and makes he happier. He is always learning and finding something new and it is fascinating to watch him grow.
2/28 - 2nd Grade Infestation
At work one day, I came in to find a woman putting up pictures of bird houses all over that looked like they had been drawn by children. It turns out that the second graders at Tukes Valley Elementary had a project where they all drew bird houses for some reason and then the teachers put them up at work for all of the parents to look at and the children find their paintings. It was great to have all of the color in the building and the residents loved having the children come with their parents.
2/27 - Chuck Norris
My father is cooler than yours!! So funny story, our freezer has been making this humming noise when it's closed which creates a problem because obviously we need it closed. We told Dad about it and when he walked over to see what was wrong, the humming stopped. He proceeded to go back and forth from the freezer and it stopped when he was near then continued when he backed off. My theory is that the freezer is scared of Dad because he is cooler than Chuck Norris!
2/26 - Someone's Been Here!
I don't think you can tell very well in this picture but how do you know an almost one-year-old has been in your houses? There's far less dust on the bottom of the television screen compared to the top. Connor just loves to go over to the TV and threaten us of pushing the power button while we are all watching it because we aren't paying enough attention to him. It's quite hilarious because he knows exactly what he is doing but since the remote doesn't work for our TV, we have to try to get him to stop before he turns it off and runs away.
2/25 - Portugal
Now that I have traveled some of the world, I have the bug. Kelsey is this way as well so I don't feel so bad :) Currently, Portugal is where I want to go. There's just something mysterious and beautiful about Portugal and of all the countries in Europe, that's where I would want to go. I actually really want to go to South America to try a different continent but Portugal just keeps coming back to me because come on, look at that beach! Anyways, I am not actually going anytime soon because every time I mention a country I want to go to, my Mom comes up with a reason why I can't go like war, famine, floods, etc. Plus, I have to finish my schooling. Dang.
