6/22 - Beautiful Morning

Work is pretty rough at 4 AM but occasionally there are plus' to being up at that hour. For example, I get to watch the sun rise every morning either at work or on my way home. Beautiful! On this glorious Wednesday, I had the pleasure of walking past the window and seeing tons of sprinklers going with the sun rising in the background. It was so wonderful but extremely unfortunate that I was unable to get a decent picture with my phone.

6/21 - Our Artist

I had Kaylynn send me a few pictures of her ceramics so I could show some friends to see if she would be able to do what her college class expects and she sends me masterpieces! My mom and Kaylynn were a little nervous about her being able to take on the work so I showed my friends and they were astounded. Other people in my classes saw as well and couldn't believe she was only in high school. This piece in particular is amazing to me because she just came up with something so amazing as this - it's not even really all that hard! There's no was I could ever manage to do something like this!!

6/20 - Meltdown

I am not going to go into detail but I had a little bit of a meltdown on Monday on the phone with my mother. Things were just kind of hard that day and I needed some mother/daughter time (that lasted about an hour!). Once I was done crying away and had gathered the strength to continue on my way, I got a text from Matthew asking me if I was home. Weird. I told him I was and he said I can't leave for about 15 minutes. So I chilled for a while and guess what he does? He brings me flowers because Mom told him to since I was having a rough day :) He didn't ask me what was wrong which was wonderful (side note: I just typed 6 words in a row that start with w) because I really didn't want to talk about it since I would have started crying again - we just talked. What a great brother I have!! (and mother for sending him out and listening!)

6/19 - Friends

These are some of my friends of three fantastic years of college and now we are all on our way to take over the world. I already mentioned two posts ago what everyone was up to so I don't need to say it again but before Christine, Jason, and I left for school again, we all decided we needed to take pictures because we won't be together for another year and a half when we meet up in Disneyland as college graduates and a few returned missionaries (Kelly and Jordan are coming too!)

6/18 - Fat Cats

Still in Utah with a bunch of friends I haven't seen in a while including college graduates, missionaries, and current students. What do we decide to do with our time? We started out eating free samples at Costco then proceeded to go bowling at the nearest alley, Fat Cats. This place is pretty cool because it generally has good music, is very clean, and has a lot to do like the arcade nearby. Apparently Amy decided to see if she could still fit in one of the little quarter machine rides and was successful (barely).

6/17 - Jackie is Going on Her Mission!!!!!

So Friday, Christine, Jason, and I set out to Utah to see Jackie one last time before she headed into the MTC for her mission to Orlando, Florida. How exciting!! We stayed with Amy and Landon and had a wonderful time. For those of you that don't know the people in this picture I will explain. All four of us have been roommates and friends for quite a while but have all moved to different parts of the country and are doing different things. Amy, on the far left, currently lives in Utah with her husband Landon. They got married last August and immediately moved to China for a while just because they could. Now they are both working in Utah and living in a basement apartment loving life. Christine, the next one over, is married to Jason (Christine and Amy were both married about a week apart) and they are both going to school in Rexburg. Christine just got accepted into the nursing program and will be starting that in the fall. Then there's me and Jackie next. Jackie graduated a little over a year ago and was working doing her thing but then decided she needed to go one a mission. Next thing we know, she has her call and is telling us that we need to come to Utah. We all spent a wonderful weekend together reminiscing about the past.

6/16 - Artichoke

Who eats these things?? Okay actually I love them but not when I have to cook them myself. I got an artichoke in our Bountiful Basket and had the half our needed to cook it so I started my first adventure in the art of cooking artichokes. What an awkward experience! First you have to steam it forever, then you have to drain it, then take the leaves and dip them in a dip of choice. The problem is that I don't have anything good to dip it in so I made a margarine/garlic dip which wasn't terribly great but that's cool. The life of a college student I guess. The funny part was that we had just barely added a new roommate to our apartment and this was basically her first experience with me - freaking out about how weird it is to cook an artichoke. She still tells me that that was a funny day and that she grew to like me that day!

6/15 - Soccer Game

I decided to support Molly and my ward at our soccer rec sports game by going and watching with my good friend, Shelby. The other team had to forfeit at the beginning because they didn't have enough players so our team gave them a couple and they had a fun game while we all froze on the sidelines. They ended up winning and Molly and I went out to Cocoa Bean for some delicious hot chocolate!

6/14 - What?

Not exactly sure was going on here but at work one day I came in to clean this room and this is what I found. I have no clue at all what it is but is was a tall tower with something in between in a class box connected to a laptop. All I can say is that I am glad I am not the one to donate the laptop to the experiment and leave it in the building all night!

6/13 - First Aid Class

So I am taking an Advanced First Aid class this semester which is kind of boring because you go into mega details about everything but then it can also be fun when we get to do things like this. We spent the day in a group of about 4 and got to just work on splints the whole time and try to make them better and better before we get tested on them. It is always pretty funny to look around in that class and see people acting like they are injured or dead to help their fellow classmates :)

6/12 - Hanging with Justin

Sunday afternoon and what is there to do? Play Phase 10 and Jenga with my roommate's fiance while she is in Texas for three weeks!! Now I know that sounds a little funny considering Shante wasn't there but Justin is always over so he has just become on of the roommates. We were both bored so we played Phase 10 and then decided to work on Jenga. After I won, we started building bridges and towers and seeing how much weight we could put on them. With these two towers, we managed to balance my waterbottle, scriptures, and a few other things until we worked up the courage to balance Shante's bread maker. Both of ours succeeded but we decided to stop there because we didn't want to break anything :)

6/11 - Oh Goodness

Not really much to say about this picture other than sometimes people are pretty funny. I really love when I come to work and find something funny that people have left from the day before. Usually there's not much but occasionally we get lucky and get to have a little chuckle here and there.
